Ingredients (For 5 sandwiches)
- White sandwich bread slices – 10
2. Butter (I prefer Amul brand), softened – 2 – 3 tbsp
3. Eggs – 5 hard-boiled (You can use soft boiled eggs if you prefer creamy sandwich)
4. Tomato- 2 medium sliced (We need 2 – 3 slices per sandwich)
Green bell pepper / capsicum – 1 small, thinly sliced
Onion, thin sliced or cut into rounds – 1 small
Carrot – 1/4 cup, shredded (optional)
Cilantro – 2 – 3 tbsp, chopped
Chat masala – Few pinches
Salt and pepper – As required
5. Mayonnaise – 2 tbsp (Use around 1 – 1.5 tsp per slice)
6. Cheese slice (I used Amul cheese slice) – 5
7. Ketchup and green chilli sauce – To serve
Method
- Spread softened butter on one side of a bread slice. Top it with sliced eggs followed by tomato slices, sliced capsicum, onion, carrot and chopped cilantro. Sprinkle chat masala and a tiny pinch of salt and pepper. Top with little mayonnaise (optional) followed by a cheese slice. Finally place a bread slice on top. Grill on a tawa or a sandwich maker. Heat a tawa over medium heat. Place the sandwich and press down lightly using a spatula. Spread a little butter on top. Flip to the other side carefully once the bottom part turns golden. Cook for a minute until cheese melts and the other side also turns golden. Cut into half and enjoy as is or with green chili sauce and ketchup.
